Rev. Marlene Paulette Hargrave, 71, of Harrisburg, Ill., formerly of Equality, Ill., passed away at her home on Sunday, January 14, 2018.  She was the activity director of the Fountain View Nursing Home for many years and a retired pastor of the First Church of God in Equality.  Marlene was born on the 4th of May, 1946 in Chicago, the only child of the late Peter Paul and Eleanor M. Velius.  She married the love of her life, Jack D. Hargrave on November 8, 1968 and Jack passed away on January 20, 1997.  Marlene was a member of the First Church of God in West Frankfort.  Marlene and Jack were blessed with five daughters, Shirley and Ed Bowlin of Thompsonville, LaDonna Hargrave of West Columbia, S.C., Melinda and Rob Moore also of West Columbia, Robin Rodriguez of Ridgway, Jackie Asena of Adelanto, Cal.; thirteen grandchildren, Justin Stover, Savanna Moore, David Moore, Roger Moore, Rachael Miller, Gina Garcia, Angela Sanchez, Christina Sanchez, Mario Sanchez, Kathy Sanchez, Mariagraciela Riva, Hailee Bowlin and Casey Bowlin.  Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one grandson, George Rodriguez.  Visitation for Marlene will be held on Friday, January 19th from 10:30 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality.  Pastor Duke Williams will officiate the service.  Burial will be at the Jones Cemetery near Equality.
