Patricia Rose Naas, of Ridgway, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 9th, 2023. Pat was born on November 4th, 1935 near Mount Carmel, Illinois to Herman and Estella (Brumleve) Berberich. In 1958 she married Charles Naas, who survives, and moved to Ridgway where they raised their four children on the family farm. Pat was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She especially enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, traveling and music. As a mandolin, piano, and gifted harmonica player, Pat helped entertain at many family functions and, in her young years, played music for church youth dances with her father on the fiddle. She was a school bus driver for twenty years. Pat was a member of Saint Kateri Catholic Church in Ridgway and recently enjoyed making rosaries for St. Mary’s Rosary Guild to send to missions. In addition to her husband, Pat will be missed by her children, Debra (David) Cheek of Junction, Kim (Derek) Martin of Eldorado, John of Ridgway, and Brad (Eleanor) of Evansville; grandchildren, Ryan Harper, Joshua (Ariel) Cheek, Amanda Cheek and fiancé Chris Schupp, Annie Rose (Joe) Keith, Jade Martin, Jackson, Jenkin, and Jensen Naas, Emily (Isaac) Gibbs, and Carter (Elle) Naas; and six great-grandchildren, Landon Brown, Reagan Cheek, Juliana and Theo Keith, and Natalie and Riley Gibbs. She is also survived by brothers, Elmer (Ellen), Charles, Frank, and Paul (Phyllis) Berberich, sister Mary (Bob) Hayden, and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents and five siblings, Sister Florian, Ralph, Eloise and Joe Berberich and Flo (John) Bale. Vickery Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements. A private family funeral is being planned.
