Larry Ray Grabis

Larry Ray Grabis, 71, of Equality, Illinois, passed away suddenly on Wednesday. January 12, 2022.  He was born in Maryland on April 17th of 1950 , the son of the late Raymond Grabis and Vivian Boutwell.  He was employed as a Line Locator for the Shawnee Telephone Company in Equality until his retirement six years ago.  Larry was a car and motorcycle enthusiast and loved car shows.  Also he piloted and flew ultralight airplanes.  He retired as a volunteer fireman after thirty plus years serving on the Golconda Fire Department and Equality Fire Department .  Larry is survived by his daughter, Angie and Jonathan Shaw of Eldorado; three sisters, Teresa of Maryland, Becky Porter of Kissimmee, Florida, Glenda Guy of Maryland; his brother, Glen Grabis of Maryland; one grandson, Brandon Sauls; special friends, Edna Duncan of Golconda and Wayne Rexing of Equality and many other friends from the surrounding community.  He was preceded by his parents; two brothers, Wayne and Bruce Grabis.
