James K. Howard

James K. “Jim” Howard, 85, resident of Shawneetown passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022 at his residence. Jim was born November 17, 1936 in Shawneetown to the late Herman, Sr. and Josephine (Kinder) Howard. He was a US Army Veteran and worked as a farmer and carpenter. On December 16, 1961 he married the former Louise Brazier who survives. In addition to his wife he is survived by two children: Jamie (Cully) Jones of Carmi, IL, Micah (Chantel) Howard of Nashville, TN, five siblings: Rebecca Ann Redeman of Fountain Hills, AZ, Mary Jane (Henry) Gross of Marion, IL, Dave (Joann) Howard of Dayton, OH, Jerry (Helen) Howard of Junction, IL, Bill Howard of Junction, IL, a sister-in-law: Brenda Howard of Shawneetown, IL, brother-in-law: Mike Bosaw of Shawneetown, IL, two grandchildren: Alex Hall (Amber Healy) of Springerton, IL, Dustin (Whitney) Hall of Harrisburg, IL, three grandchildren: Savi, Ellie and Brayton. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters: Betty Krikie, Ellen Kay Bosaw and four brothers: Herman Howard, Jr., Conrad L. Howard, Jack E. Howard and Daniel J. Howard. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown with Pastor Chad Everett officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, March 20, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Fields Cemetery near Junction.
