Obituary

 Edward “Eddie” Burtis, 92, of Equality, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.  Eddie was born on April 9, 1930 in Equality the only son of Edward and Mary Madeline (Dempsey) Burtis.  He married the former Kathleen Nalley on July 3, 1953.  Eddie was a retired repairman at the Missouri Portland Cement at Cave-In-Rock.  Eddie was a member of the Christian Life Fellowship Church in Harrisburg.  He is survived by his wife Kathy Burtis of Equality; two sons, Terry and Sudie Burtis of Equality, Jack Burtis of Indianapolis, Indiana; one daughter in law, Cathy Burtis of Equality; seven grandchildren; ninteen great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.  Eddie was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Joseph Burtis.  Visitation for Eddie will be held on Friday, October 28th from 10 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality.  Pastor Ken Bloomenstock will officiate the service.  Burial will be at the Elmwood Cemetery near Equality.
