Zelda Marie Hobgood, 85, of Equality, passed away, Monday, September 17, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado. She was born in Equality on May 13, 1922. Zelda was married to Marvin Hobgood who preceded her in death on December 19, 1980. She operated the Zelda's Flower Shop in Equality for twenty-five years. Zelda is survived by one daughter, Mickey and Larry Mitchell of Equality; six grandchildren, Angela and Ron Hendrix of St. Louis, Mo., Toni Kay and Todd Willis also of St. Louis, Kevin and Laura Mitchell of Evansville, IN, Brad Gowan of Equality, Amy and Mark Genet of Galatia, IL, Eric and Jennifer Mitchell of Evansville; twelve great grandchildren, Justin, Jon Mark, and Ben Genet, Mason Mitchell, Katie Favor, Kyle Hedgpeth, Cody and Jake Willis, Amber Butler, Ashley Sanders, Chelsea and Dylan Gowan; one great great, Jack Butler. She was preceded in death by mother, Ada Coffee Mundy; her husband, Marvin; two daughters, Phyllis Mandziara and Marla Gowan; one sister, Thelma L. Dempsey. Visitation for Zelda will be Wednesday, September 19th from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality. Funeral services will be the following day, Thursday, September 20th at 1:00 p.m. Reverend Louis Devous will officiate with burial at Elmwood Cemetery.
