William Francis “Bill” Graves, 85, Omaha, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2014, 7:52 p.m. at the Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. He was born on May 6, 1929 in Omaha, the son of Roy Roscoe and Ruth Elizabeth (Kuder) Graves. Bill married Sandra Helms on November 22, 1968. He was a teamster truck driver for thirty-eight years at the Rogers Cartage Company in Channahon. Also he attended Omaha General Baptist Church and was a member of the Masonic Lodge May Chapter #718 of Norris City and also was an Army veteran. Bill is survived by his wife, Sandra Graves of Omaha; three daughters, Christine and Dennis Meyer of South Chicago Heights, Gina and Shawn Breen of Omaha, Darla and Mike Sanchez of Wilmington; one sister, Sue Hannah of Virden; three brothers, James E. And Mary Lou Graves of Norris City, Charles E. And Donna Graves of Dyer, Ind., Roy E. And Billie Sue Graves of Eldorado; nine grandchildren, Stephanie, Stacy, Monica, Mark, Keith, Mitchell, Presley, DeLaney. LexCee; and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, James W. And Steve Graves;one brother, John Robert Graves; and one brother-in-law, Carl Hannah. Visitation for Bill will be held on Friday, May 23, 2014 from 2 p.m. until service time at 5 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Omaha. His life long friend Rev. Joe Patton will be officiating. Masonic Rites by May Lodge will begin a 5 p.m. Memorials in Bill’s honor may be made to the Bethlehem Cemetery. Internet condolences may be made at the website, www.vickeryfuneralchapel.com.
