William Franklin Chaney

May 14, 1939 — July 29, 2016

William Franklin “Bill” Chaney, 77, of Norris City, passed away at his home on Friday, July 29, 2016, 10:45 a.m. after an extended illness.  Bill was born on May 14, 1939 in West Frankfort, the son of the late Martin and Dorothy (Huffmeister) Chaney.  He married Carmen McGinnis on July 31, 1960, who survives.  Bill was a salesman for many companies through the years until retiring.  Diehard fan of the St. Louis Cardinals like his daughter Renee but was a huge fan of Nascar that he loved to watch with his wife Carmen. He loved to talk with his son, Marty about every and anything sports.   Survived by his loving wife, Carmen Chaney of Norris City; two children, Renee and Kevin Hutchinson of Norris City, Marty and Paula Chaney of Evansville, Ind.; three grandchildren, Amber Nichole Roemmich, John Wayne Anderson, Joshua Martin Chaney; eight great grandchildren, Tristen, Dawson, Jozlin, Henissee, Bryant, Addie, River, and Mia; three sisters; one brother; several nieces and nephews also survive.  Also very special friends to Bill were Derrick Davis and Linda Webb.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister and one brother.  Visitation for Bill will be held on August 1, 2016 from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Omaha with Pastor Roger Hobbs and Pastor Kathy Dunn officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Union Ridge Cemetery near New Haven.
