Shirley A. (Parker) Woods

December 11, 1936 — September 12, 2014

Shirley A. Woods, 77, of Equality, passed away at her home on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 6:30 p.m.  The daughter of James and Mary (McDaniel) Parker, she was born in Equality on December 11, 1936.  She was married to J.C. Woods on May 4, 1957 who preceded her in death on December 21, 2003.  Shirley worked for twenty-two years at the Harrisburg Manufacturing, which she retired from in 1999.    She was the mother of seven children; five daughters, Pamela and Larry McCuan of Equality, Cheryl and Amedee Juarez of Eldorado, Linda and Chris Karns of Equality, Anita Womack of Equality, Annette and George Reeder of Harrisburg; two sons, Gregory Woods of Cobden, Jeffrey and DoReatha Woods of Morganfield, Ky.; twenty grandchildren and several great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters, Helen Certain, Rosie Wargel, Pauline Wenzel; two brothers, Bert and Logan “Bill” Parker.   Visitation for Shirley will be on Monday, September 15, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality.  Funeral service will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Keith Ital officiating.  Burial will follow the service at the Elmwood Cemetery near Equality.
