Shirley Ann Rebecca (Terrell) Maynard

Shirley Ann Rebecca Maynard, age 77, of Spring Hill, FL. died on September 7, 2017, at the Caroline Walker Adult Care Home, and in the care of HPH Hospice. Shirley was born in Ridgway, IL, on September 9, 1939, to the late Andrew Jackson & Emmer Armaida Ruth (Tryee) Terrell. Shirley moved to Spring Hill in November 2014 from Omaha, IL. Shirley was a homemaker who enjoyed reading romance novels, playing bingo, especially with her best friend, doodling in the yard and gardening. Shirley was of the Pentecostal faith. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her 10 siblings, and her husband of 51 years, James Alvin Maynard, who died in February 2006. Shirley is lovingly survived by her sons; James Andrew Maynard, of Spring Hill, FL, Alvin Ray Maynard and his wife Tina, of Virden, IL, and Donald Wayne Maynard, of Omaha, IL, 9 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. Shirley will be greatly missed by her brother, Thurman Otto Terrell, of Jersey, GA, and sister, Phyllis Kanady, of Shawneetown, IL. In lieu of flowers please make charitable donations to the charity of one’s choice in Shirley’s memory.  Graveside service for Shirley will be on Tuesday. September 19, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the Hogan Cemetery.  The Rev. Lyndal Sork will be officiating.  Those attending should go directly to the cemetery.  Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown will be in charge of the arrangements.
