Ruby Scherrer

Ruby Scherrer, 91, of W. Logan Ave., Shawneetown; passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at 11:27 p.m. at Harrisburg Medical Center in Harrisburg. Ruby was born September 17, 1916 in Altamont, Ill., to Roy and Grace (Canull) Nance. She married George M. Scherrer on November 25, 1937 and he preceded her in death on July 13, 2004. Mrs. Scherrer was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shawneetown. Ruby was graduate of Fairfield High School. Ruby is survived by six children, George M. and Cynthia Scherrer Jr. of Oakton, Va., Irene and Ron Brown of Newport, N. C. , Nancy and Tom Logsdon of Shawneetown, Joyce Fornes of Carbondale, Fred and Susan Scherrer of Equality, Jamie Scherrer of Ridgway, and; nine granchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, husband and granddaughter, Maude Logsdon. Memorial service for Ruby will be Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shawneetown with Father Mark Stec officiating.
