Roy Franklin Goolsby

Roy Franklin Goolsby, 75, of Harrisburg, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, 4:48 a.m. at Harrisburg Medical Center in Harrisburg.  He was born in Raleigh on February 23, 1939, the son of Joseph and Nettie (Goulsby) Goolsby.  Roy was an U.S. Army veteran and a mechanic by trade.  He is survived by two sons, Gary and Angela Turcott of Harrisburg, Jeff and Cathy Davidson of Traverse City, Mich.; one daughter, Tammy and Joseph Smith of Creal Springs; nine grandchildren, Garrett and Josh Turcott, Dalton and Shania Vaughn, Tonya Creager, and Toshia Everett, Trina Iannarelli, Amber McGill and Jesse Davidson; eleven great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Ida Bebout, Ruby Bebout, Ethel Bebout, Margaret Smock; four brothers, George, Elmer, Clyde, and Jim Goolsby; one grandson, Jeffery Davidson II.  A private family service will be held at a later date.  Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown in charge of arrangements.
