Richard Clyde “Rick” Hughes, 72, of Royal Oak, Mich.,passed away at his home at 6 a.m. on Sunday, July 3, 2016. He was born in Detroit, Mich., on September 18, 1943, the son of the late Clyde Henry and Shirley Jane (Anway) Hughes. Rick was the Captain of the Emergency Medical Services of the City of Detroit. He served our country in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. Rick is survived by his two children, Jessica and Paul Koslen of Troy, Mich., and Michael Richard Hughes of Macomb Township, Mich.; two brothers, Tom and Debbie Hughes of Wintergarden, Fla., Gary and Pauline Hughes of Russellville, Ala.; two sisters, Jane Chester of Reidland, Ky., Sue and Don Nave of Equality; three grandchildren, Nathaniel and Noah Koslen, and Colin Hughes; eleven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his infant sister, Marilyn Kay Hughes. Visitation for Rick will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016 from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality. Rev. David Smith will be officiating with burial at Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg.
