Rachel Mae Dailey, 90, of Ridgway formerly of Equality, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at the Ridgway Rehab and Nursing Center in Ridgway. She was born on December 25, 1926 in Bowlesville Twp. near Shawneetown. Rachel was the daughter of the late James Allen Houston and Elizabeth (Wallace) Houston Mahan. She married Johnnie Thomas Kitchens on April 1, 1946 and he preceded her in death on September 12, 1950. Rachel was a LPN nurse, a homemaker and was a member of the Equality Church of God. She is survived by her two daughters, Kathryn Louise Carruba of Ridgway, Rebecca Sue Massett of Ridgway; two sons, Michael Lee and Rebecca Kitchens of Ridgway, Randy and Kelly Rodgers of Fisk, Mo.; one sister, Dorothy Millspaugh of Equality; twelve grandchildren; several great and great great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews. Rachel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters, Margurete Kitchens, Mary Montgomery, Hattie Kennedy; and one brother, James Austin Houston. Visitation for Rachel will held on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway. Funeral services will be at the funeral home the following day, Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Jerrod Barton officiating. Burial will be at the Elmwood Cemetery near Equality.
