Norma Rosilee Neumann, 95, of Ridgway, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2014, 5:45 p.m., at the Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville, Ind. She was born on April 8, 1919 in McLeansboro, the daughter of Harry U. and Verna S. Mead. Norma married William Grover Cook on November 11, 1939, and he preceded her in death on October 5, 1962. On June 29, 1965 Norma married Edward Neumann who passed on March 9, 1995. She worked for many years as clerk at the Gallatin County Tin Shop in Ridgway. Norma was an active member of the Ridgway United Methodist Church and the Gallatin County Women’s Club. She is survived by her daughter, Judith and Randy Ferrell of Henderson, Ky.; a granddaughter, Jaclyn Harmon of Shawneetown; one grandson, Geoffrey and Natalie Cook of Joliet; three great grandsons, James Wood, Jackson and Andrew Cook. Norma was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; one son, Michael Cook; one granddaughter, Angela Marie Cook; and her brother, Jack Mead. Visitation for Norma will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway. Funeral service at the chapel on Monday, May 19, 2014 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Ron Johnson officiating. Burial will be at the Odd Fellows Cemetery near McLeansboro. Memorials in Norma’s honor may be made to the Ridgway Golden Circle or the Shawneetown Public Library.
