Noble Howard Moye, 83, of Ridgway, Ill. went to Heaven on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at the Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind. He was born on May 5, 1934 in Eldorado, the son of Elmer and Eula (Wathen) Moye. Noble was married for sixty-five years to the love of his life, Irma L. (Overton) Moye, on February 8, 1952. Noble will always be remembered for the eight years he served as Gallatin County Sheriff, the many years as Deputy Sheriff, and Deputy Coroner. He played a big part in the Democrat Party as he was a Precinct Committeeman for fifty years. He was a retired coal miner who loved life and visiting with family and friends. Farming, hunting, and an appreciation for guns and knives were often the topics enjoyed over a good meal. Noble was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ridgway, Eastern Star, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rites, Shriners, Illinois Sheriff’s Association, Elks, Moose, Eagles, National Rifle Association, and United Mine Workers Association. Along with his caring and loving wife, he is survived by his four loving daughters, Sherri (Gary) Lane of Leamington, Linda (Cliff) Sutton of Harrisburg, Tina Wathen of Ridgway, and Kristi (Johnny) Abell of Ridgway. Seven grandchildren Travis (Emma) Lane, Brittney (Nick) Capeheart, Courtney and Tyler Sutton, Lauryn Abell (Jeff Will), Michael and Morgan Abell. Eleven great grandchildren Brittany & Bethany York, Jake Golden, Logan and Dylan Lane, Halle, Ellah, and Ava Lane, Brayden and Aniston Capeheart, and Eden Will. Two great great grandchildren Caleb and Aiden Fellner. Noble was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Richard and Lillis Moye, and one sister Edna West, his son-in-law Don Wathen, and one grandson Jason Lane. Visitation will be held at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 1 p.m. with Rev. David Auxier officiating. Interment will be at Jackson Cemetery in Ridgway. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund of Ridgway.
