Michael E. Bayer, 63, of 2450 T Lake Road, Equality, IL; passed away, Saturday, September 1, 2007, 8:35 p.m. at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi, IL. He was born February 10, 1944 in Eldorado, IL to Frank Leo and Martha Manetta (Muenstermann) Bayer, both have preceded him in death. Mike was a U.S. Army and was a member of the McLain-Glover American Legion Post 595 in Equality. He was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Equality and a retired coal miner. Mike is survived by four sisters, Linda Bayer of Ridgway, Martha Glover of Equality, MaDonna and Terry Gwaltney of Arnold, MO, Joanne and Kenny Lovell of Sturgis, KY; four brothers, James and Liz Bayer, Carl and Mabel Bayer, Richard and Peggy Bayer, Bernie and Mona Bayer, all of Equality. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 4, 2007 from 4 to 8 p.m. with prayer service at 5 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality. Funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Equality on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at 10 a.m. with Father Mark Stec officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery near Equality with McLain-Glover Post 595 in charge of military rites. Donations may be made to Equality St. Joseph Cemetery Fund.
