Melvin Lee Dillinger

July 16, 1939 — July 11, 2013

Melvin Lee Dillinger, 73, of Norris City, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2013, 11:59 a.m. at the Hamilton County Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.  He was born on July 16, 1939 in Evansville, Ind., the son of Harry E. and Irene (Whisenhunt) Dillinger.  Melvin married Ella Mae Jones on July 16, 1958.  For thirty-five years he was an over the road trucker.  Also, Melvin was a church member of the Plainview Church in Norris City.  He enjoyed Bluegrass Country music, watching Westerns and seating on his front porch drinking his coffee.  Melvin is survived by his wife, Ella Mae Dillinger of Norris City; five children, Curtis Dillinger of Carmi, Greg Dillinger of Carmi, Terry and Elizabeth Dillinger of Greenville, Ky., Cindy and Artie Huff of Brownsville, Rodney and Angie Dillinger of Norris City; two sisters, Betty and Joe Newman of Carmi and Lorene Pollard of Florence, Ky.;  nine grandchildren, Amber and John Carroll, Craig Dillinger, Cassie and Jason Eaton, Cort and Alysia Huff, Katie Dillinger, Ashlee Nicholson, Siriah Dillinger, Kendra Dillinger, Wyatt Dillinger; three great grandchildren, Kaden Carroll, Jackson Eaton, and Aniyah Huff.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Dillinger.  Visitation for Melvin will be held on Saturday, July 13 th from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Omaha.  Funeral Service on Sunday, July 14 th at 1 p.m. at the funeral chapel with Reverend Josh Slater officiating.   Burial will be at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Cottonwood.  Donations in Melvin’s memory may be made to the Plainview Church.  Internet  condolences may be made at the website, www.vickeryfuneralchapel.com .
