May Imogene “Jean” Wilson, 92, of Eldorado, Ill., formerly of Shawneetown, went home to be with the Lord on February 24, 2016, at 6:55 a.m. in Eldorado. She was born in Carrier Mills to Huey and Sylvia Morse on January 1, 1924. She married John (Bunk) Wilson on April 2, 1946, and lived in Shawneetown. In 2005, she moved to Eldorado. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; a premature infant; two brothers, Freeman Morse and Luray Morse; one sister, Margetta Martinko and two infant sisters, Wynona Louise and Edith Marie; and a stepson Homer D. Wilson. She is survived by her son, John (Paula) Wilson of Eldorado; three grandchildren, Angie (John) Attebury, Karen (Andrew) Dunaway, and Joshua Thackston; two step grandchildren, Bob(Kim) Wilson and Jim Wilson; three great grandchildren, Sarah Attebury, Braden Attebury, and Emma Dunaway; three step great grandchildren, Aidan Dunaway, Amanda Wilson, and Megan Wilson. Jean graduated from Harrisburg High School with the Class of 1942. After completing high school, she worked in Michigan and Cape Cod, Mass. After coming back home and marrying, she spent a number of years as a bookkeeper before retiring in 1984. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at the age of 13 and was baptized at North America Baptist Church. She joined Eldorado First Baptist Church in 2005. Services will be held at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 1 p.m. Visitation for Jean will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Randy Plunkett will be officiating the service with burial a the Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Eldorado First Baptist Church Building Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
