Mary Jane (Wilbur) Young

Mary Jane Young, 93, of Shawneetown, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2015, 6:35 p.m., at the Fountain View Nursing Home in Eldorado.  She was born on February 23, 1922 in Evansville, Ind., the daughter of William Walter and Dolly Myrtle (Tubbs) Wilbur.  Mary Jane married Byers Oxford Young on June 29, 1940.  Byers passed away on October 22, 2002.  Mary Jane was a member of the Shawneetown First Baptist Church.  She is survived by one daughter, Helen F. Golden of Thompsonville; two granddaughters, Lisa Lynn and Bill Barton of Shawneetown, Twana Jill Golden, also of Shawneetown; one grandson, Brandon Elliott and Amy Golden of Norris City; one brother, Charles Walter Wilbur of Sun City, Arizona; one niece, Marrianne Ellis of Enfield; great grandchildren, Judi,  Josh and Jared Whitaker; and several other great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Byers Lee Young, and one sister, Lorraine Edwards.   Memorial service for Mary Jane will be held on, Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Shawneetown First Baptist Church with Pastor Jack Hall officiating.  Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown in charge of arrangements.  Internet condolences may be made at the website, www.vickeryfuneralchapel.com.
