Mary Lou (Vinyard) Joyner

June 9, 1940 — October 3, 2013

Mary Lou Joyner, 73, of Equality, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2013, 3:50 a.m. at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind. She was born on June 9, 1940 in Kedron, Ill., the daughter of Ernest C. and Mary E. (Keasler) Vinyard. Mary Lou married Edgar T. Joyner on June 14, 1958. In previous years she worked at Pearce Hospital in Eldorado and Harrisburg Medical Center as a LPN. Mary Lou was a faithful member at the Equality Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband, Edgar Joyner of Equality; one son, Charlie Joyner and fiancé, Susan Joyner of Elizabethtown; one daughter, Rhonda and Tim Oldham of Equality; one sister, Aldora Barnett of Equality; three grandsons, Benjamin Joyner of Plentywood, Mont., Jonathan Joyner of Harrisburg, and Kyle and Stephanie Oldham of Harrisburg. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Charles Quentin Vinyard Sr. Visitation for Mary Lou will be held on Saturday, October 5 th from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality. Pastor Jerry Williams will be officiating with burial at Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown. Donations in Mary Lou’s memory can be made to the Equality Presbyterian Church.
