Mary Catherine Brown

Mary Catherine Brown, 86, of Shawneetown, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2014; 10:42 a.m., at the Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi.  She was born on April 8, 1928 in Shawneetown, the youngest of two daughters of William and Catherine (Deitz) Brown.  Mary Catherine worked as a secretary for the Railroad Company.  She was the member of the St. Kateri Catholic Church.  Mary Catherine is survived by several cousins and longtime friend, Virginia Eswine.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Mabel Brown.  Visitation for Mary Catherine will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. with prayer service and 6 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown.  Funeral Mass will be on Monday, June 23, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the St. Kateri Catholic Church - St. Mary’s Chapel in Shawneetown with Monsignor Joseph Lawler conducting Mass.  Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery near Shawneetown.
