Mary Ann Bosaw, 86, of Omaha, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2014, 4:10 p.m., at the Shelbyville Manor in Shelbyville. She was born on October 7, 1927 in Omaha, the daughter of Albert H. and Veva (Blackard) Wallace. She married Glenn Andrew Bosaw on September 4, 1951, who preceded her in death on December 12, 2009. Mary Ann was an active member of the community as a member of the Omaha General Baptist Church, fifty year member of the order of the Eastern Star #714 of Ridgway, and Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post #3851 of Carmi. Mary Ann was a secretary at Fort Sheridan and operated the Bosaw Grocery in Omaha. A volunteer at Welborn Hospital in Evansville, Ind., she earned her twenty thousand hour volunteer pin. She leaves behind her two brothers, Charles Wallace of Palm Springs, Cal., Sam and Norma Wallace of Sparta; one sister-in-law, Joanne Wallace of Marion; several nieces and nephews. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four sisters, Ruby Lamb, Margaret Altman, Emma Lou Kerouac, Norma Lea Christensen; three brothers, Richard Wallace, William Wallace, and James Wallace. Visitation for Mary Ann will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014 from 9 a.m. until service time at noon at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Omaha. Reverend Chris Marsh will officiate and burial will be at the Palestine No. 2 Cemetery near Omaha. Donations in Mary Ann’s memory may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
