Mary Lou Barnett. 80, of Equality, Ill., passed away on Friday, October, 20, 2017, 6:40 a.m., at the Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado. She was born on April 18, 1937 in Shawneetown, the daughter of Charles Wesley and Margaret Irene (Gobel) Mann. Mary Lou married Donald Ray Barnett on December 25, 1956 and Donald preceded her in death on January 2, 2006. She was a member of the Equality Social Brethren Church and the Equality McLain - Glover Post #595 Ladies Auxiliary. Mary Lou is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Barnett and Debra Barnett, both of Equality, one son, Stacy and Sheri Barnett of Carmi; one sister, Joyce Riley of Madera, Cal., four brothers, Willard Mann of McAllen, Tex., Jim Mann of Carrier Mills, Ralph “Ed” and Glenna Mann of Harrisburg, Jack Mann of Hampton, Fla.; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Betty Borum and Carolyn Alvey; three brothers, Max, Joseph, and Charles J. Mann. Visitation for Mary Lou will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality. The funeral service will be the following day at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jack Hall and the Rev. Matt Troxel will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Cottage Grove Cemetery near Eldorado. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, M.D. Fund, or St. Jude’s.
