Mary Langendorfer

Mary Ann Langendorfer, 78, of Shawneetown, Illinois went to her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 23rd, 2025 at the Eldorado Rehab and Healthcare Center. She was born into a loving home on May 31st, 1946 in LeMars, Iowa where her father ran the family farm. The only daughter of Charles Wendell and Mary Lou (Kiefer) Langendorfer, she grew up on the family farm south of Junction on Route One, while her mother taught school at Equality. Mary Ann lived a simple life helping her dad on the farm. Her father, Wendell passed away in 1994 and her mother Mary preceded him in death in 2011. After Mary Ann's parents passing and one of the bigger floods that happens now and then, she moved to the "big" City of Shawneetown. But Mary Ann remained a country girl at heart. She was active in her church, The First Baptist Church of Shawneetown, the Gallatin County Home Extension - Lane unit and worked in the Gallatin County Food Pantry. Mary Ann loved visiting the library and her friends at the City Hall. She always will be remembered and missed by her friends, her cousins that were very dear to her. Mary was preceded by her parents and three infant brothers. There will be a celebration of life and memorial service for Mary Ann to be held at a later date. Pastor Jack Hall will officiate and interment will be at the Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown. Donations in Mary Ann's memory may be made to the Baptist Children's Home, 949 County Road 1300N, Carmi, IL 62821. Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown is in charge of arrangements.
