Marjorie L. Naas, 87, of Equality, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at the Eldorado Rehab and Healthcare in Eldorado. Marjorie was born on July 28, 1929 in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of John Garrison “Pete” and Gladys Loretta (Lilly) Baker. She married Eugene Sylvester Naas on March 31, 1948 in Equality. Gene preceded her in death on June 15, 2011. Marjorie was a retired secretary from the Gallatin County School District. She was very active in the community as a member of the St. Kateri Catholic Church, Ridgway Women’s Club, St. Kateri Altar Society, and the Red Hat Society. Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Jane C. Rankin of Equality; her son, William “Bill” Naas of Evansville, Ind.; one brother, Gordon M. Baker of Danforth. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Olive May Baker; three brothers, Calvin, Charles, and Jerry Baker. Visitation for Marjorie will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway with prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be the following day, Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the St. Kateri Catholic Church in Ridgway at 10 a.m. with Father Steven Beatty officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery near Equality. Donations in Marjorie’s memory can be made to the Gallatin Co. Senior Citizens, Deaconess VNA Hospice, or the St. Kateri Building Fund.
