“Marcia Rae Dulaney, of New Haven, Illinois, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026, at her home.

Marcia was born on October 13, 1947, to Mark and Bernice (Cozart) Sowels in Harrisburg, Illinois. She graduated from Harrisburg High School in 1965 and went on to pursue a career in the medical field. Marcia eventually became a registered nurse and worked in nursing homes and hospitals throughout Southern Illinois for nearly 30 years. She often fondly reminisced about her time working in Obstetrics in Carmi and Harrisburg, as well as the nurse’s aide training program she helped establish while employed at Wabash Christian Retirement Center.

In 1984, Marcia became active in the Order of the Eastern Star. She served as Worthy Matron in the Norris City, Ridgway, and Marion chapters and later held numerous roles, including Grand Lecturer, Grand Representative for Kentucky and South Carolina, and member of the Board of Governors overseeing the Eastern Star Home in Macon, Illinois. She was also a member of the 2002 Grand Family, serving in the role of Grand Marshal.

In 1968, Marcia married Joe Burke Dulaney, who preceded her in death in 2009. She is survived by her son, Sean Dulaney of New Haven.

Services will be held in Saturday March 14th 2026 at 11:30 a.m. at the First United Presbyterian Church 611 Vine St New Haven IL. Vickery Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.”
