Joyce Sturgill

Joyce Sturgill, 69, of 238 W. Roosevelt Ave., Shawneetown, Ill., passed away at her home on Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at 3:15 a.m. She was born October 5, 1939 in Shawneetown to Joe Gilbert and Myrtle (Rider) Stubbs. Joyce married Clarence Sturgill on July 6, 1963. She is survived by her husband; her daughter, Kim and Tom Benedict of Shawneetown; her brother, Joseph and Cheri Stubbs Jr. of West Frankfort; and nephew, Larry Joe Stubbs also of Shawneetown; three grandchildren, C.J. Sturgill, Cheyenne Pritchett, Kelly Parrish; and one great grandson, J.T. Parrish. She was preceded in death by her parents. Joyce was a member of the Shawneetown First Baptist Church. Visitation for Joyce will be held Thursday, March 12, 2009 from 10 a.m. until service time at 2 p.m., at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown.
