Jimmie “Jim” Doyle, 73, of Ridgway, Ill., passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2015, 1:50 p.m., at the Ridgway Manor Nursing Home in Ridgway.  He was well known in the community as the editor for the Gallatin Democrat and Ridgway News and as a member of the St. Kateri Catholic Church of Ridgway and an Army veteran.  Jim was born in Sturgis, Ky. on May 29, 1941, the son of Horace E. and Ruby (Collins) Doyle.  He married Mary Lou Neumann on May 30, 1967, and she passed away on September 2, 2012.  Jim is survived by his two sons, Tim and Chris Doyle of Evansville, Ind., Greg and Charity Doyle of Ridgway; two brothers, Buzzy Doyle of Sturgis, Ky., Larry and Joann Doyle of Sullivan, Ky; one sister, Carolyn and Danny Walker of Sullivan, Ky.; three grandchildren, Evan Fredrick, Olivia Nichole, and Benjamin Connor Doyle.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou; two sisters, Linda Brashear and Helen Templeton, one brother, Ronnie Doyle.  Visitation for Jim will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2015 from 5 to 8 p.m. with prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway.  Funeral Mass will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Shawneetown on Monday, May 4, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Father Steven Beatty officiating.  Burial will be at the St. Joseph Cemetery near Ridgway.
