Jim Taylor, 78, of Equality, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2015, 4:15 a.m. at the Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado. He was born on February 19, 1937 in Hiram, Ky., the son of Ike Taylor and Addie Dixon. He was raised by Hiram Dixon. Jim was a retired coal miner form Peabody Eagle 2 Mine. He proudly served his country as a marine in the Korean War. Also he was a member of the Equality McLain - Glover Legion Post #595 and the Equality Masonic Lodge #2. Jim has a new mansion in heaven and he invites all friends and family to join him. He is survived by his loving wife, Helen Taylor of Equality; three daughters, Brenda Taylor of Ridgway, Linda Woods of Equality, Pamela Hise of Raleigh; one son, Jimmy Taylor of Equality; three sisters, Madge Miles of Cumberland, Ky., Barbara Lewis of Hiram, Ky., Martha and Raymond Bowling of London, Ky.; six grandchildren, Erik and Missy Burtis, Jeremy and Tina Burtis, Israel and Christine Burtis, Terisha and Matthew Wilson, Hillary and Wyatt Yates, and Jade Hise; twelve great grandchildren, Josh, Braden, Alexa, Carson, Claire, Isaac, Ezra, Oliver, Burke, Brooks, Mallie-Kate and Amelia; one great great grandchild, Johviii. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather; one grandson, Josh Woods; two sisters, Catherine Phillips and Geneve Banks; four brothers, Bob Taylor, Howard, Jack, and Bill Williams. Visitation for Jim will be held on Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 10 a.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality. Funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Marshall Glover with masonic rites at 1:45 p.m. by the Equality Masonic Lodge #2. Burial will be at the Elmwood Cemetery with military rites American Legion Post #595.
