Jewel Devae (Overton) Koerner

Jewel Devae “Judy” Koerner, 84, of Ridgway, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2015, 8:35 p.m., at the Ridgway Rehab and Nursing Center in Ridgway.  She was born on September 4, 1931 in Ridgway, the daughter of Adron and Ruth (Reynolds) Overton.  Judy worked for many years at the Maytag Corporation at Galesburg.  She was also a member of the Ridgway First Baptist Church.  Judy is survived by three sons, Michael and Sue Koerner of Murrayville, Russell and Robin Koerner of Galesburg, Kevin and Tonya Koerner of Metropolis; one daughter, Debbie Olson of West Frankfort; one sister, Irma and Noble Moye of Ridgway; one brother, Gene and Elsie Overton of Alton; nine grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant sister, Carolyn Ann Overton; three brothers, Dale, Tom, and Bill Overton.  Visitation for Judy will be held on Monday, October 12, 2015 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway.  Funeral service on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Rusty Morecraft officiating.  Burial will be at the Jackson Cemetery near Ridgway.  Donations in Judy’s memory may be made to the Jackson Cemetery.
