Jerry Lynn Crane

May 10, 1944 — May 5, 2014

Jerry Lynn Crane, 69, of Shawneetown, passed away at his home on Monday, May 5, 2014, 11:13 p.m., after an extended illness.  Jerry was born May 10, 1944 in Shawneetown, the son of Eugene and Maggie (Dillard) Crane.  He married Sue Winters on August 17, 1963.  Jerry was a retired coal miner from the Peabody Coal Company.    Survived by his wife, Sue Crane of Shawneetown; three daughters, Dena and Daryl French of Sturgis, Ky., Leigh Ann and Tracy Coonse of Shawneetown, Beth and Buddy Bean of Shawneetown; one brother, Carroll and Roby Crane of Shawneetown; four grandchildren; Jerred Coonse,  Dylan and Danielle Krikie, Paige Coonse and Olivia French.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Harold and Donald Crane.  Visitation for Jerry will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown.  There will be a private graveside service at Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Brother Joe Colon officiating.  Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois.  Internet condolences may be made at the website, www.vickeryfuneralchapel.com.
