Jeffrey Lynn Mahan, 65, of Harrisburg, Illinois formerly of Equality passed away at his home on Saturday, April 5th, 2025. Jeff was born on January 17th of 1960 in Eldorado, one of six children born to the late George "Roby" and Hazel (Davenport) Mahan. He graduated from Equality High School in 1978 and went on to became a mechanic. He worked as a mechanic at Kmart, Bishop Enterprises and Precision Mine Repair. Jeff had a passion for antique car restorations. He leaves behind a special friend, Amy Denbow Clark and family, her son, Chris Polites and children, Chris and Nolen; her daughter, Ashley (Jimmy) Foster and her children Ryne, Della and Finn. Also, Jeff is survived by his three sisters, Linda (Gary) Crawford of Maineville, Ohio, Sandra (Rick) Prather of Equality, Cynthia Mahan of Greenville; one sister-in-law, Joann Mahan of Harrisburg; several nieces, Crystal Crawford, Caryn (Tim) Royce, Ashley (Justin) Roper, Donna (Joe) Westbrook, Gayla Aydelott, Robi (Ryan) Mahan-Tinlin, Dr. Reiana (Josh) Mahan-Smothers, Anne (Thaddius) Intravaia; seven great nephews and four great nieces. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Gerald and Roger Mahan. A graveside service will be held for Jeff on Friday, May 23rd at 1p.m. at the Elmwood Cemetery near Equality. Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality will be in charge of arrangements.
