James Henry Hammond

James Henry Hammond, 90, of Cobden, formerly of Equality, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at the Union County Hospital in Anna.  James was born on August 5, 1926 in Eldorado, the son of Charles O. and Cecilia Catherine (Bayer) Hammond.  He was a Army veteran of WWII.  He survived by his brother, Doyle Hammond and nieces and nephews.  James was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Edith Carpenter and Doris Smith; three brothers, Elmer, Charles and Lon Hammond.  There will be a private burial at St. Joseph Cemetery near Equality.
