James T. Coyle, 74, of Equality, died at his home on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 6 a.m. Jim was born in St. Louis, Mo., the son of Ray and Betty (Staphenhorst) Coyle. He was the owner of Shawnee Telephone Company. Jim married Jane R. Pankey on December 12, 1972 and she preceded him in death on October 10, 2007. He was a Vietnam War Veteran and belonged to the McLain-Glover American Legion Post #595. Jim was a faithful member of St. Kateri Catholic Church - Equality Chapel and was a member of the choir and the Knights of Columbus in Ridgway. He is survived by three nephews, Chris and Karen Heberer of Equality, Steve and Tiffany Heberer of Herod, Mike Grisham of Marion; two nieces, Gay and Brent Turner of Equality, Cindy and Bill Roberts of Eldorado. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his wife and one sister, Carole A. Heberer. Visitation for Jim will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality with prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Equality on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 10 a.m. with Father Steven Beatty officiating. Burial will be at the St. Joseph Cemetery near Equality. Memorials may be made to the St. Joseph Cemetery.
