Ida Jackson, 86, of Ridgway, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2015, 10:43 a.m., at the Ridgway Manor Nursing Home in Ridgway. Ida was born on June 20, 1928 in Greenfield, Ark., the daughter of Charlie Roby Brown and Lillian May (Rockwood) Brown Hise. She married Walter David Jackson on March 25, 1970 who preceded her in death on March 12, 1987. Ida was a member of the Ridgway Church of God. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts. Ida is survived by her two daughters, Neva Joyce Gaboian of New Haven, Lillie Mae Masters of Carmichaels, Penn.; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Evelyn McCollum and Lucille Brown; two brothers, Bill and Jessie Brown. Visitation for Ida will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown. Rev. Lyndal Sork will be officiating the service with burial at the Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown. Memorials may be made to the Ridgway Golden Circle.
