Herbert Nunley Jr.

Herbert "Herbie" Nunley Jr., 56, of 495 W. Roosevelt Ave. Shawneetown, Ill., passed away at his residence on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 6:43 p.m. He was born on October 21, 1953 in Eldorado to Herbert Lee and Gertrude (McGill) Nunley Sr. Herbie married Violet Sue Ozee on June 19, 1974. He worked as a barge loader for Power Inc. and for Bunge Corp. for twenty-six years. Herbie is survived by his wife, Sue Nunley of Shawneetown; one daughter, April and John Owen of Sturgis, Ky.; one son, Mark Nunley of Shawneetown; three brothers, Mike and Debbie Nunley of Carmi, Roger Nunley of Eldorado, Rodney Nunley of Eldorado; one sister, Martha and Terry Potts of Eldorado; six grandchildren, Aspen Robbins, Michael Owen, Austin Robbins, Ashlie Owen, Alexis Nunley and Amanda Owen; two great grandchildren, Jemma and Aiden. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation for Herbie will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown. Funeral service will held at the funeral home on Sunday, May 9, 2010 at 2 p.m. with Rev. John Owen officiating. Burial will be at Wolf Creek Cemetery in Eldorado.
