Gladys Irean (York) Moye

Gladys Irean Moye, 94, of Omaha, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017, 2:15 p.m. at the Carmi Manor Rehab & Nursing Center in Carmi.  She was born on the 15th of April, 1923 in Bono, Ark., the beloved daughter of the late Asa Romelia and Bessie Deatrice (Cozart) York.
Gladys married Joseph Richard Moye on November 27, 1941.  Richard preceded her in death on October 31, 1998.  She worked for many years as an LPN and worked as a nurse for Dr. Albert Bledig for over twenty years.  Gladys was a faithful member of the Ridgway Baptist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star - Ridgway Chapter #714.
Gladys is survived by two sons, Dr. Jerry L. and Ruth Moye of Hong Kong, China, Richard Darrell and Dixie Moye of Okemos, Mich.; her sister, Mila Mourine Burton of LaGrange, Ky.; four grandchildren, Laura Esther Moye of Washington, D.C., Richard Lee and Molly Moye of Lansing, Mich., Darrell Lee and Stacie Moye of Mt. Vernon, N.Y., Richard Nathan and Elizabeth Moye of Birmingham, Ala.; six great grandchildren, Maddox and Anna Moye (twins), Cooper, Brady, Ava and Brodie Moye.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister, Adalee Purdue; one brother, Asa Everett York; one great grandson, Hunter Moye.
Visitation for Gladys will be held Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway with Eastern Star service at 6 p.m.  Funeral service will be the following day at the funeral home  on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David Auxier, Rev. Rob Gallion, and Rev. Jerry Moye officiating the service.  Burial will follow at the Old Cottonwood Cemetery near Omaha.
