Gladys Allen Dixon

Gladys Allen Dixon, 86, of Ridgway, passed away, Sunday, February 10, 2008 at 4:15 p.m. in Saline Care Center in Harrisburg. She was born March 8, 1921 in Blodgett, Mo. to Fred and Gracie (Jones) Rister. Gladys married Ralph Wayne Allen on June 25, 1939 and he preceded her in death on August 31, 1979. She later married James Dixon and he passed away on July 6, 1992. Gladys was a member of the order of the Eastern Star- Ridgway Chapter #714, Pisgah General Baptist Church and Home extension- Lane unit. Gladys is survived by daughter, Sarah and Don Oxford of Ridgway; son, David and Marcie Allen of Murphysboro: three grandchildren, Marilyn Kanipe of Ridgway, Allen Oxford of Ridgway, Kristina and Brian Harrison of Herrin; three great grandchildren, Kimberly Kanipe, Adian Harrison, Delanie Harrison. She was preceded in death by parents, husbands, and two brothers, Dale and J.S. Rister. Visitation for Gladys will be held, Wednesday, Feb. 13th from 11 a.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway. Rev. Rob Gallion will be officiating with Ridgway Chapter #714 conducting Eastern Star rites. Burial will at Palestine II Cemetery in Omaha.
