Gary B. Barker Sr.

Gary B. Barker Sr., 79, of Shawneetown, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. He was born in Shawneetown on April 18, 1941 the son of the late Cecil Aurple Barker and Alice Jewell (Oliver) Barker West.  Gary owned and operated Barker Mowing Service and was a car salesman at Rich Motors in Shawneetown.  He was a member of the Leamington Community Church.  Gary leaves behind his daughter, Christine and Jeff McCabe of Eldorado; three sons, Gary and Mindy Barker Jr. of Franklin, Kentucky, Jeff and Lisa Barker of Junction, Matt Barker of Shawneetown; one sister, Helen Powell of Shawneetown; one brother, Rodney and Annis Barker of Shawneetown; eighteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren.  Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Tim and Mike Barker.  There will be a graveside service for Gary on Saturday, November 14th at 1 p.m. at the Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown.  Those attending should go directly to the cemetery.  Brother Don Hopson will officiate the service.  Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown in charge of arrangements.
