Florence Wilson, 101, of Ridgway, Ill., passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2017, 6:22 a.m., at the Harrisburg Medical Center of Harrisburg. Florence was born in Ridgway to the late Joseph “Lane” and Mary Ellen “Mayme” (Barnett) Foster on April 18, 1916. She married Max Hastings Wilson on December 24, 1934 and he preceded her in death on March 29, 2010. Survived by the following family and friends, her son, Ronald Paul Wilson of Ridgway; her grand daughter, Julie Ann Wilson of Lake Worth, Fla., who was named after her great grandmother Julia Foster; one sister, Kay Champion of San Jose, Cal.; adopted “kids”Linda and Carl Bond; Gary King and nephew, Thomas Foster who were very good to her; Sally Hale who called every Sunday; Sharyon and Bob Cox who visited every Friday night; Rachel Foster who visited when she was home; Kris Kennedy who wrote cards and called; Shelly White who visited regularly; other nieces and nephews and friends. Florence was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister, Pearl Miner; two brothers, George and Carl Foster. Florence was a faithful member of the Ridgway First United Methodist. Visitation for Florence will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017, from 10 a.m. to service time at 12 p.m. noon at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway. The Rev. Thad Galloway will be officiating with burial at Asbury Cemetery in rural Omaha. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Asbury Cemetery.
