Eula Maxine Hise, 95, of Shawneetown, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, 2:20 a.m., at the Harrisburg Medical Center in Harrisburg. She was born on October 1, 1921 in Junction, the daughter of Raymond and Ethel Kanady. Maxine married Leitis Lee Hise on December 27, 1941 in Missouri. Leitis preceded her in death on February 28, 1981. For many years she was a cook for the Ridgway Manor Nursing Home and was a member of the Junction First Baptist Church. Maxine is survived by her two daughters, Kathy Lee Hise of Shawneetown and Janet Lynn and Gary Householder of Morganfield, Ky.; one surviving brother, Raymond Glen “Wimp” Kanady of Junction; one grandchild, Bobby Lee Householder of Morganfield, Ky.; and her sidekick, Socks. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister, Beulah Harrelson and her brother, Jerry Dale Kanady. Visitation for Maxine will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown. Funeral service will be the following day, Friday, February 3, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. The Reverend Roy Dale Orr will officiate the service with burial at the Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown. In lieu of flowers donations in Maxine’s memory may be made to the Junction First Baptist Church.
