Elva O. Wilson, 73, of Shawneetown, Ill., passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2017, 11:07 a.m. at the Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado. She was born on October 1, 1943 in Rosiclare the daughter of the late Frank and Opal (Milligan) Cowsert. On October 10, 1966 she married Earl James Wilson. Earl preceded her in death on the 8th of March in the year 2009. Elva is survived by her daughters, Terri and Jeff Guimond of Kankakee, Cheryl L. Wilson and James Schoeberl of Shawneetown; two sisters, Fran Hickrod of East Dundee, Mary Cook of Shawneetown; two brothers, Frank Cowsert Jr of Powder Springs, Ga., Larry Cowsert of Effingham; six grandchildren; three step grandsons; adopted granddaughter, Stephanie Mustafa and her three children; nine great grandchildren; one step great grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one brother, Harold Cowsert. Visitation for Elva will be on Monday, August 7, 2017 from 11 a.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown. Pastor Jack Hall will be conducting the service with burial at Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown. In lieu of flowers donations in Elva’s memory may be made to the Deaconess VNA Hospice.
