Elbert Earl Dempsey, 88, of Oracle, Ariz. formerly of Equality, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2014, 11:15 p.m. at the Park Avenue Health and Rehab Center in Tucson, Ariz. He was born on November 20, 1925, the son of Elbert Cleveland and Madeline (Wright) Dempsey. Elbert Earl was retired administrator at the Wayne County General Hospital in Wayne, Mich. and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by his brother, Cedric W. And June Luke Dempsey of LaJolla, Cal.; three sisters, Helen Marie Dempsey of Spokane, Wash., Linda Dempsey of Lodi, Cal., Marcia Kay Dempsey of El Cajon, Cal.; four nieces, Patty Sullivan Carlson of Harrisburg, Lynn Sullivan Harper of Harrisburg, Sara Sullivan Wettaw of Mooresville, N.C., Barbara Dempsey Kaminski of Wayne, Mich.; one nephew, Kenneth David Dempsey of Wayne, Mich.; numerous grand and great grandnieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents; one sister, Mary Lou Sullivan and brother-in-law, Dale Harlan Sullivan; one brother, John William Dempsey and sister-in-law, Winifred Wenzel Dempsey ; one nephew, David Earl Dempsey. There will be a Graveside service on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 11 a.m. At Lindale Cemetery near Eldorado. Military rites by Harrisburg American Legion Post# 600 with the Military Honors Team.
