Elbert Eugene “Gene” Beaver, 84, of Equality, passed away at his home on Monday, June 1, 2015, 11:20 a.m. He was born to Francis and Helen Pauline (Sanders) Beaver on March 10, 1931 in Johnston City, Ill. On March 25, 1950 he married Violet Lavern Sisk. Gene was the owner and operator of the Beaver Music and gave many music lessons. He was also a member of the Church of God. Gene is survived by his wife, Violet of Equality; one son, Preston Beaver, also of Equality; three grandsons, Matthew Beaver, Jarred Beaver, and Phillip Mills. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Lawana Jean Hancock. There will be a Graveside service for Gene on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the Elmwood Cemetery near Equality. Rev. Toby Hise will be officiating the service and those attending should go directly to the cemetery. Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality will be charge of arrangements.
