Edward "Sonny" Thacker

Edward "Sonny” Thacker age 87 from Eldorado, Illinois passed away on August 1,2025 at Deaconess Hospital in Henderson, Ky surrounded by his sister’s. He was born on August 27,1937 to the late Claude and Martha Thacker who preceded him in death. Sonny grew up in Thacker Holler. He was an avid NASCAR fan where he loved to attend in person. When not there in person, you would see him cheering them on every Sunday afternoon on tv. In November of 1960 he married his beloved Janet who preceded him in death on January 9,2020. Also preceding in death are his sisters Mildred Hayes and Claudine Awalt. Surviving in his death are his loving sisters Carmeta McConnell of Junction and Sue Padget of Marion, KY. He also is survived by many nieces and nephews. There will be a private viewing for family at Vickery Funeral Chapel on August 4,2025 followed by a graveside service at Cottonwood Cemetery at 1pm officiated by Curtis Morris.
