Douglas Earl Boggs, 59, of Equality, passed away at his home on Friday, March 6, 2015. He was born on June 25, 1955 in Lynch, Ky, the son of Elmer and Eva (Osborn) Boggs. Doug married the former Glenda F. Willingham on April 13, 1973. After serving twenty-two years he retired as an Army Master Sergeant and was a veteran of the Desert Storm Gulf War. He also worked at General Tire in Mt. Vernon, Ill. Doug is survived by his loving wife, Glenda Boggs of Equality; his son, Douglas E. Jr. and Rosemary Boggs of Equality; three sisters, Eloise and Kenny Millspaugh of Equality, Pansy and Henry Cornett of Benham, Ky., Doris Tweed of Leicester, N.C.; three grandsons, Dylan, Hunter and Austin Boggs. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Larry and James Boggs; and one niece, Tiffianie Diane Troutt. Visitation for Doug will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality with Rev. Daryl Ford officiating. Burial will be at the Wildcat Hill Family Cemetery near Equality. Military rites will be conducted by the Ridgway American Legion and the Army Honor Guards.
