Dorothy J. Poole

Dorothy J. Edwards Poole, 76, of 4875 Crunk Road, Omaha, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 4:45 a.m. She was born on February 7, 1933 in Omaha to Herdis C. And Ethel M. (Sarver) Edwards. Dorothy received a bachelor degree in Education from SIU in Carbondale and later her Masters from U of E in Evansville, Ind. She was a retired school teacher and had taught for forty years at Omaha and Norris City schools and was a member of the Omaha General Baptist Church. She is survived by one brother, Ray and Sue Edwards of Omaha; three nieces, Lesa and Wade Newton, Dana and Bill Wargel, Billie and Steve Febuary, all of Ridgway and one nephew, Bruce and Karen Edwards of Omaha. Dorothy was preceded in death by parents and her brother, William L. Edwards. Visitation for Dorothy will be Wednesday, May 27, 2009 from 4 to 8 p.m. with funeral services Thursday, May 28, 2009 at 11 a.m., all at the Omaha General Baptist Church in Omaha. Rev. Blaine Felty officiating with burial at Palestine Two Cemetery near Omaha. Vickery Funeral Chapel in Omaha in charge of the arrangements.
