Darrell Duane “Butch” Pittman, 67, of Ridgway, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2013, 8:53 a.m. at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Tex. He was born on March 19, 1946 in Kankakee, the son of Eugene and Pearl (Ingleton) Pittman. On October 22, 1966 he married Sheila Faye Thomas who survives. He worked as the maintenance supervisor for Gilster-Mary Lee Corporation. Butch loved to fish, and he entered in many fishing tournaments. He is survived by his loving wife, Sheila Pittman of Ridgway; one son, Chad Pittman of Equality; two sisters, Cinda Barger of Springfield and Phyllis Van Der Weele of Trafford, Penn. Butch was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Carolyn Maxine Johnston and Eunice Oberlin. Visitation for Butch will be held on Monday, December 30, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway. Funeral service will be at the funeral chapel on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Duke Williams officiating. Burial will be at the Jackson Cemetery near Ridgway.
