Carl F. Hannah

Omaha – Carl F. Hannah, 76 of Virden, IL passed away at 12:04 p.m. Tuesday April 23, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, IL. Carl was born April 16, 1937 in Eldorado, IL a son of Kenneth H. and Irene (Johnson) Hannah. Carl married Sue Graves and on Sept. 7, 2013 they would have celebrated 50 years of marriage. Carl was a U.S. Army veteran, a 40-year member of the Virden Fire Protection District and had retired from both Fiat-Allis and the Virden School District. Carl also worked for Payne Pontiac & Kruse Enterprises in Virden, IL. Surviving Carl are his wife, Sue Hannah, his daughter, Gretchen H. (Chris) Rutledge of Evansville, IN, his son, Kenneth J. Hannah of Chatham, IL grandchildren, Samuel, Emily and Annie Rutledge, Madison and Lydia Hannah and their mother, Elizabeth Gregurich, sisters, Nancy (George) Cox of Rogers, AK and Gretchen (Bill) Dodd of Virden, IL, brothers, Jim (Phyllis) Hannah of Farmersville, IL, Earl (Kathy) Hannah of Girard, IL, Herb (Kay) Hannah of Royalton, IL and Andy (Lynda) Hannah of Poseyville, IN and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Preceding Carl in death were his parents Kenneth, Karol and Irene Hannah, his sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Nelson Sandefur. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday April 28, 2013 at Calvert & Ferry Funeral Home, Virden, IL with a remembrance service at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Tim Barbee officiating. There will be visitation from 11 :00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday April 29, 2013 at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Omaha, IL with funeral services at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mike Hannah officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery, Omaha, IL. Memorials may be made to the Countryview Christian Church, Girard, IL or to the Virden Fire Protection District, Virden, IL.
